Lapping & Rinsing SP-94 - Discolorations & Rust ???

I plan to lap my SP-94 HS. As part of the procedure, I plan to rinse the HS after each grade of paper. My questions are as follows:


1. Will rinsing off the HS cause rust or discolorations on the base/fins? (and yes I plan to polish the base with Arctic Ceramique, but I'm more worried about rust/discolorations on areas that I CAN"T polish.)


2. Is there aneed to dry it off with a blowdryer when I'm done?


3. Should I wear gloves while handling the HS during the loooooong lapping process?


I want this HS looking nice and purty when I'm done with it!

Blow dryer couldnt hurt.....its not like the heat from the blowdryer is going to hurt it....i mean the copper base sits on a 50C processor for years (hopefully) with no problems.
