hey everybody...

in a spur of the moment thing(insanity), I lapped my p3-650E...

started out with 800 grit sandpaper, went to 1000, then 1500, then finished with 2000. I did the 800 both dry and wet sanded, but everything else afterward was solely wet sanded. Yes, I got the cpu wet, but i let it air dry and it is fine now.

My results? I'm roughly 2 degree's C lower after lapping the CPU. Would I do it again? Only if I had to. This isn't for the faint of heart... it is amazing how thin the blue layer is.

Dangerous. Your realize you are lapping the actual silicon, unlike the old celeries that had some metal in between. Glad it worked out, but I wouldn't take any more off.

Yeah... very, very dangerous.. I didn't completely remove the blue surface(there is still some there)...

I did it just to try it out... Like I said above, a spur of the moment INSANITY. ;).
