for people who police the forums a lot: i know this should be in the cooling/notebooks section, but this place gets more attention than either.

so, does anyone have any experiences they like to share using the lapcool2 305, lapcool4 430, or similar models? are the extra usb and media card reading features worth paying the price difference? any comparison between each one? i get mixed reviews from third party sites, so here i am asking for second opinions from people with real-world or > a months experience. thanks.

I use one under my Dell 600M for the past 6mos and my laptop runs at 98-116 F.

It seems to cool about 10deg F. from usual.

If you have a full blown P4 in your laptop they will prevent your legs from getting burned. But they do absolutely nothing to keep your computer from overheating.

I use the Lapcool 2 on my Toshiba DTR. It reduces operating temps @ 10 degrees. I don't really know if you could actually use this thing in your lap, but anything that reduces the temp by 10 degrees is great. The extras on the Lapcool 3 are only worth it, if you're gonna use 'um.
