I haven't gone through most threads here, but the general theme that I've found is that people favor giving 2 weeks notice, not burning bridges, and if you're going to leave to let your employer's transition period be as easy as possible.

With coaches jumping ship, most notably John Calipari + Pete Carroll are leaving behind messes of programs that they choreographed.

The season is over. What would you have him do differently other than not quit?

Lane Kiffen
Monte Kiffen
Ed Orgeron

AND

Norm Chow

Can't get a coaching staff much better than that.

it's not over he's 3 weeks away from signing day! He just gave UT a big FU, screwed the whole class and walked out in the span of a few hours. Then he didn't allow a press conf to be aired live and took no questions.

Now I can't wait for the wrecked car/drunk driving and womanizing to finally come out.

Kiffen
Orgeron
Chow

Are in the top 5 of what they do.
I hope Lane doesn't find a way to screw this up.

The other three I can see, but what has Lane Kiffin accomplished to have everyone convinced that he's some sort of elite coach at all?

As a USC fan I dont like this. I was hoping Jack Del Rio would take the job.

Kiffen as HC is nothing to write home about but the staff he has in place might be the best in the counry with M.Kiffen, Orgeron, and Chow.

Pete Carrol got out just before the NCAA hammer is dropped.

USC is one of the biggest cheating cheaters out there, along with all the other major powers.

The NCAA sooner or later will have to stop trying to sweep the Reggie Bush scandal under the rug to protect one of their cash cows.....too much other funny business getting exposed now.

Kiffen has assembled a GREAT staff....they should win big...unless they get a major probation stint imposed.

While I agree there might some sanctions coming soon, how is USC a cheater, USC did not pay anyone (football players) to come play for them. Its alleged that some NFL agents paid Bush to LEAVE USC for the NFL. While I agree it was under the school's watch and they are to blame to some degree but I wouldnt really call them cheaters.

Barkley should be ecstatic about the prospects of working with Norm Chow (Steve Young, Philip Rivers, Ty Detmer, Carson Palmer, Matt Leinart).

I really wish SC would take football more seriously. That way, all those friggin bandwagon fans would die a horrible death. They only come out of the woodwork during a strong season. I hardly saw any Trojan colors or flags this year. Even leading up to the Ohio State game.

LOL - Kiffen/Orgeron are telling recruits to wait a few days before they enroll in classes so they can transfer to USC.

(Is it bad that I like his style?)

BTW, the more I think about this the more I realize just how much I've become anti-big time college football. People at USC are cheering (for some reason) about this hire and people at UT are burning shit. UT will hire another coach and everyone here will be happy... and then all of the fans of the team that coach came from will be unhappy. But you know who really gets screwed in all of this? The players.

Reportedly Orgeron was using the phones in his office at Tennessee to call recruits that had committed there and tell them to switch to USC. Real class act.
