Entered the property meaning walked around outside? Or came inside? Were you there? Did he knock? Did you tell him to pound sand?

Edit: I see you say he didn't knock, just came in. And you were there? WTF is wrong with this guy? Dude's going to get himself shot. Not to mention it's unbelievably rude to enter someone's home without knocking and receiving permission.

No reason that I know of, especially not one that falls under the 'emergency' category. They are individual landlords.

Hang on, Did he knock on the door? Did you let him in?

No and No, he used his key.

They are chinese, I'm not sure they know the laws exactly...

Then write a letter explaining the law and the position it puts you in if he keeps coming into your apartment unannounced.

He used his key? He will wind up injured or worse if he keeps that up. You'd be doing him a favor setting him straight.

He was just collecting the tapes he records of you. I'd change the locks and/or greet him with a shot gun next time.

<sigh> So many good smart-ass replies...so little time.<sigh>

Take him to court. Get an injunction against illegal entry.

While it's not as satisfying as shooting him as a suspected burglar, it should stop the problem...or fatten your wallet a bit every time he does it. (until he evicts you)

Yeah, thats the issue. I don't want to start a shit-fire and I actually really like the people. I think I'm going to send a nicely worded letter with my concerns by certified mail.

Sounds lke illegal entry to me. If they show up again at 11 PM Call the cops and have them arrested.

Send a Certified letter to your landlord with RRR.

Dear So-andSo,

On xx/xx/xx you entered my apartment without providing me with prior notice as required by state law. This is the second time that this has occurred.

Future incidents like this WILL result in me taking legal action.

Sincerely,
XXXXXXX

Did he say why he was there at all? Like "oh hey, gotta change the batteries of the bugs i planted, hope you don't mind". That seems really random and awkward to find your landlord in your place at 11 at night...
