Lance Armstrong to confess to doping in an upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey

Nah just seeking the limelight. Is it me or does Lance Armstrong look homosexual? Look at me! I'm FABULOUS!

This is probably the only way he could alienate what's left of his fan base. I don't see how anyone in his position could think this is a GOOD thing in terms of "publicity".

I would have thought being quiet and humble for awhile would have been the best approach.

yup.. keep your mouth shut. dont admit. leave doubt in peoples mind.
i still thought he was still champion in my mind till this article.

now he's a cheater and deserves no respect

From the sound of it, everyone competing at the upper echelons of his sport was doping. He still beat all of them. I suspect that if we could have magically made all doping disappear he would've beat them in that no-doping alternate reality too.

I don't really care what he did, nor do I need him to confess... nor do I fault him for denying it for a while. Seems like an industry that is absolutely overtaken by doping decided to get suddenly, strangely indignant about it in his case and go on a witch hunt for someone doing what everyone did.

Before ATOT had his back and was passing all of this off as a cheap shot from the French to single out an American winner in a time when practically everyone was doping. Now we're all against him? The bandwagon changes frequently around these here parts.

I never had his back. Guy is scum. I got criticized hardcore by friends though for calling him out. As long as the guy didn't confess he was infallible.

Well said.

I see what you're saying but at the same time anyone who's a professional athlete like this is also a role model. You need to act like one. We've gone through this with Weight Lifting, Swimming, Baseball, and just about every other sport. I don't understand why we keep justifying it. The next big scandal might be in Soccer and we'll all be up in arms about it then saying "Well it was like that for so long and the only way to be competitive so what did we expect?!"

We expect these guys to not cheat.

If we want a sport with cheaters we can make one. Lets juice up a whole bunch of 12-18 year old kids and stick them in an arena. Last one standing wins.

Can someone tell me why he's confessing?

He's comfortable with all the blind fans in denial. Why is he doing this? He's surrounded by PR managers, so it's a calculated move. What does he gain from this?
