Lance Armstrong charged for doping by USADA

He has absolutely no incentive to admit it, if it's true. But there's plenty of incentive for others to lie about him. The most reliable evidence is the blood samples, and even that's open to question, at this point.

I hope it's not true.

If it was true, they or other organizations would have caught him long ago. Nothing but sour grapes and witnesses who have an axe to grind.

From my understanding, he's been one of the most tested athletes for drugs/doping. But now that he's retired from cycling, he's been caught?

I have thought for years that he doped. What did it for me was several years back when just prior to the tour a bunch of big names got found out--elite, world-class athletes who Lance had beaten in competition and yet were all doping. I have a difficult time believing that he's so damn good that without doping he can beat the next best athletes in the world who are. There are people who've reported it, too.

That said, he's never been unequivocally shown as having cheated, and so at this point limiting him from further sport including triathlon seems very harsh. He's 40 and very quickly running out of time for endurance sports. Most are well retired by now.

There will always be a serious cloud of suspicion. How come others were caught and not him? For that many tests? Where there is smoke there's fire, I guess, but his record (of clean tests) is pretty damn impressive.

He's a fine athlete in any case, and if he is a doper, he's also a damn fine doper. Of course, if he is found unequivocally to have been a doper his title should be taken away. I think these chemicals destroy the legitimacy of sports; I stopped watching the tour when that shakeup (2006 or 2007 I think) happened.

WTF does anyone care about MMA fighters doping? It's barely a sport anyways and if some doping gets those animals to kill each other in more glorious ways I say dope it up! That's the only reason anyone watches that shit anyways.

If they're pressing this hard, he probably did. Not that I care, but when things go as far as they apparently have here, there's usually something to it. He is a great athlete regardless IMO.

He has to take steroids or testosterone shots to maintain healthy hormone levels in his body... Doctors were giving them to him during and after his fight with testicular cancer...

He only has one nutt sac to naturally produce the man juice... the other half has to come from some where!

Most tested athelete in the WORLD there has been a witch hunt against him since his first win. He must have given blood thousands of times.

You have a good point. In cycling and Olympic sports like track and field and weight lighting where everyone is pretty evenly matched being dominant unfortunately makes you suspicious by definition.

It's funny that even right now people still believe that he is still clean. Most of you must not follow cycling. Practically everyone he was racing against was found doping. He is / was good but not that good that he could beat all of them clean. Many pro cyclist were proved to be doping even while they never tested positive (Jan Ullrich, Ivan Basso, Michele Scarponi, ... and tens of others). If you are so naive to think that the boss is clean then I have a Nigerian friend who has a million dollar for you

google Operation Puerto

like I said most of you don't follow cycling. Tens of other pro cyclists were found cheating but never tested positive

I seriously doubt that USADA will risk their reputation if they have nothing against him. When French anti doping agencies were investigating him he played the French vs USA card and offcourse his naive followers starting chanting freedom fries songs and believed him. I'm interested to see which card he will play now

Main reason for testing and eliminating doping is to promote sport as a healthy life habit and fair play, both parts of the olympic ideal. Like they used to tell us in grade & high school: "Mens sana in corpore sano".

This doesn't make any sense. According to them they have proof dating back to his 2009-2010 samples to prove ""fully consistent with blood manipulation including EPO use and/or blood transfusions." but waited until 2012 to say so.
