hey, a bunch of friends and i want to do a lan, 3 of us are on windows running computers, 1 is on a Mac, OS10. the windows using people can see eachother but we cant see the mac user, can you help us?

Does the Mac have an IP address? Can it be pinged? Can it ping? If you are hooked up the net, can it reach the net?

What do you mean by see? 😛

i mean i can see the other computers in network neighborhood but not the mac. he is connected to the internet but we cant find his computer

Make sure he has the options to create SMB/CIFS shares turned on (can't help you find it, sorry). If he goes into finder, he should be able to click on "go" and something like "connect to server" to use SMB/CIFS shares.

Are you using Mac OS X or 9 on the mac? if your using OS X it is possible for you to see the mac -- it just needs to be turned on and setup. if you r using os 9 forget it. It is not going to work unless you purchase a thirdparty utility like Dave.
