judging by that picture, I think you're running XP, maybe 2000? But I do know there's a way to do it in XP, and it's prolly in 2000.

open up task manager, go to the Networking Tab(obviously), then click on view-> select columns. Select "bytes sent" and "bytes received", and hit ok. Task Manager is now tracking the number of bytes tx'ed. And it will still track it after you close it too.
