Lan problem

Hello all, I cant get my lan to connect except in safe mode. Checked all settings
nothing has changed. Have not installed any new hardware or changed drivers
either. Tried uninstalling then re-installing the hardware and lan driver, no luck.
system specs:
shuttle an35n
XP 3200
1 gig ram
7600 gt AGP

We need a little more info to be able to help you out here.

Do you get link on your NIC?
Our you using a router?
If so are you getting an IP from the router?
Can you ping the router or modem?
 
Thanks for the reply, I solved the problem. I installed anti-spyware last week called
" spy catcher", seemed to do a good job found a lot of stuff ect. This morning warned me
it caught a trojan trying to get on my system and stopped it. When I went to load firefox
my LAN could send packets but not receive any! It would only work in safe mode. I tried
disabling start up's, went the CMD route and renewed via ipconfig but still no luck. Finally
I uninstalled spy catcher and my LAN came back..weird 'cause it was allready disabled
via MSconfig. Don't know what happened but i'm glad it's working, I was looking at a
OS re-install (ugh)...Thanks again.
