Wow, I actually live in Coraopolis, right off of Forest Grove road! :)
Excuse my ignorance, but I've never attended a LAN party and really don't know what they're all about - I usually just skip over all threads/topics dealing with them. The only game listed that I own is Battlefield 1942. I've never even played any of the other ones. I'd be interested in attending, but given my lack of experience/games, should I even bother?

Gujski, if the Yahoo map is accurate, take McKnight south to 279 South, stay on the Parkway West until the Montour Run Rd. exit (it's after the Robinson Town Center exit). That would probably get you in visible range of the Sleep Inn.

That's definitely the easiest way; without traffic or tunnel backups it should take roughly thirty minutes to the Montour Run exit.

Alternately, if you're like me and you hate tunnels:

Take Camp Horne Road west to US 65 (Ohio River Blvd.), and turn right. Follow US 65 to Sewickley, and turn left onto the Sewickley Bridge. Turn left off the bridge onto US 51. Follow US 51 to the first right turn (Thorn Run Road) and follow Thorn Run to the next stoplight. Turn left onto Beaver Grade Road, and follow that to Montour Run Road (I think it's the second traffic light). Turn Right onto Montour Run, and follow that to Market Place Blvd.

If you get lost easily, forget my directions ;) If not, it should save you 5 - 10 minutes over the Parkway.

Zenmervolt - Being good at these games don't make them fun. It makes it fun for everyone that is..hehe! No way, I'm not good at them all. I'm just here to have fun. If I win one or two...GREAT!

idNut...Nice Clan. I played Q, Q2, and Q3 Single Player, but never really got in to QuakeIII online. UT was more my game of choice.

CallTheFBI - I'll get you a standard PCMCIA NIC if you don't have one.

murphy55d - Not far at all for a LAN Party. It's about 45min drive for me and I'm hosting it..

Like to see all you PA Anandtechs!

CTho9305 - You don't have to stay all day. In fact, if you want to sit out a couple games and do some home work...I will not mind!

Just get on the turnpike head west young man. 4.5 hours and you'll be there. ;)

I go to Robert Morris College once in about every two years for a seminar for work so I know exactly where this is. Too bad you had to schedule it the same day as the Daytona 500 or I might seriously consider attending.

That's all I hear in the office, why on Daytona 500 or Valentine's weekend. Well my thoughts are:

We can setup a tv (I think they have cable, if not we'll us rabbit ears), use a radio or last record it to VCR. For those who thinks it's Valentines weekend...I think your wrong. Valentine's Day is on Friday...1 day!

Lesson on NASCAR race watching on TV:

The only way to watch a NASCAR race on TV, especially the Daytona 500, is to have the whole afternoon freed up (meaning no wife or kids), a case of beer (Yeungling Lager bottles in my case) iced in a cooler sitting beside the recliner within arms reach, plenty of munchies on the other side of the recliner also within arms reach, (sorry, no porkrinds for me:disgust: ) a straight shot from the recliner to the bathroom for "commercial" breaks, and a bunch of friends over to enjoy the experience with you and yelling "HIT THE WALL TONY!".

The Daytona 500 day has to be the most unproductive day of my whole year. ;)

I don't understand car racing. You watch a bunch of cars go around in circles 500 times, all the time hoping for some violent collision. It's like watching the second hand go around on a clock, hoping for some sparks or malfunction each time it passes over the minute hand.

You see, I really don't watch racing to see the wrecks. There is a whole lot more involved than just a bunch of cars going around in a circle. If there wasn't, they wouldn't be doing it.

I don't understand why people watch other people play golf on TV. I guess to each his own.

amdmang, here are driving directions for you. But I would come in on Rt. 28 South instead of the Yahoo route, it would probably be faster.

Getting excited here...less than a week and then it's go time.

Got the server up and running this weekend with all the games, patches, maps & tested with 3 computers. Got a couple fine tuning to do. Anyone know how I can similate up to 20 users?

See you there,

So who here is going? I am still debating whether or not to because I really blow at RtCW and I don't know if my friends are interested. My gaming has gone downhill since I've been schooled on the net so much and can't find a game that's at my level. Any QIII people in the area that're attending?

idNut - Who really is? Come and have fun...tell your friends they can kick everyones butt at MOHAA. I know 2 people that are coming play MOHAA online all the time and will give you some comp. BF1942 only 2 guys are really good. Everyone else plays RTCW, but like playing all the games. Dude pop and chips are free. Come setup play a little and if you don't like it you'll be home before dinner...OHYEA!

If not, we'll I tried!

I'm going and I've never played any FPS except for BF1942. I actually dislike FPS games in general, but figured I'd give it a try.
