Anyone have any first hand info on this case? I know it's brand new, but I can't seem to find any info on it other than what's on their official site. It seems like the perfect case for my needs, but I hate buying something without reading reviews first.

Bought one and returned it. It's a first run product from a new company. Great support from Matt, but I would check out the thread on [H] to see if they fixed most of the showstopping issues.

Care to share why you returned it? I checked out the thread over at [H], however it's 68 pages long so I wasn't able to read every post.

My advice is to grab a sandwich or two and a tall glass/bottle of your favorite drink and read that whole thread. Granted its a lot to read but you'll learn about the entire Da Box developement story from start to its current status. Once you have read it all you'll be as knowledgeable as anyone about the Da Box.

Also, if you really want input on whats happening now you'd probably be better off posting over at [H] since that is where Matt, the owner, himself posts and answers questions along with many others that have bought the case.

My posts are later on in the end, those are the important ones to read to see what people's experiences are. In a nutshell:

Being Fixed with new parts shipping out buyers:

  • Front panel alignment is off
  • Power cable does not work (means you can't close your case up when you're done)
  • HD Cage fitment

Not being fixed:

  • Standoffs are not removeable, and most M-ATX boards do not use all of them. This means you need to either dremel one of them off or bend your board by putting non-conductive material between the one you don't need (if that even works)
  • HD Cage blocks Dominators, any high profile memory from being used

Other stuff that is a bit annoying:

Paint quality is very unpolished, mine came with a few spots already with paint chipped off.

Fitment is imprecise, you will need elbow grease and hope you don't break something

Screws - you absolutely a long neck screwdriver

Possibly being addressed - buttons, USB headers simply don't work etc.

It's a pretty decent first run but the issues are obvious and the refinement is not high (no rubber feet either).

The airflow design is excellent however, and overall design is excellent. They just need to work out the details.

They're coming out with a Mini-ITX box as well soon and that's what I'll be looking at more closely.

PS - it's not that small. It's actually a bit large in person.
