Ok, I'm in a college residence and we have a 10Base2 coax LAN setup on the floor.. There's about 20 computers, and I'm the computer at the end of the chain, where the cable is terminated.
I've found that my computer will randomly reboot when some programs access the network for internet, such as outlook express or from incoming Icq messages.
This problem is isolated to my computer, and I'm using the lastest drivers for all my components (AOpen 401 NIC, Asus A7V, ATi xpert 2000 Pro, etc).
The computer guy who is running the network doesn't know why this is happening, and has suggested adding a metre of cable after my computer and then terminating there.. would that make any difference?
I'm pretty new to networking, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
