LAN Cable Combination Help requried

Can we use W/Brown, Brown, Blue and White / Green at 1,2,3 & 6 position respectively ? Will it work if I connect this cable via joiner to another cable (default combination) to reach hub (which is connected to internet modem/router)

Is there a reason you want to change the order of the wires? You can find pinouts in this page.

although it's out of spec, if you make both ends of the cable the same, then it's still a straight through.

so yea....it will technically work, but just stick to 568a or 568b standards.

You may get substantial crosstalk in the wires if you don't follow the 568a or 568b standards. They came about for a reason.

You defeat the noise rejection feature of the cable by not sticking to the standard. Use 568b which can handle 1gb on cat5e. I don't think 568a can handle that speed on cat5a however I never check.

Someone on this forum, thinking it was M4H, said never muck with the physical layer. Nothing more true than this.

Considering blue and white/green are not a paired wire set I would go with what everyone else has mentioned here. If it works, it will likely work with a high error count.
