LAN at College

Hey,

I have a question. At our college, we have a T1 connection and the internet is extremely fast. We also download at blazin speeds. Though, no one can stream movies from the web. We also cannot play games on the internet...everything from Starcraft to Desert Combat. I don't understand. It takes me 2 seconds to download a video clip, but if I attempt to stream it...it takes minutes upon minutes. Can this be fixed or tweaked? Or am I and my friends screwed when it comes to this aspect of the internet?

I really appreciate it!

Matt

There might be any numbers of devices on the college network that limits the speeds of streaming media and stuff. Ask the admins.

probably screwed. Read the network access policies. They probably block DXgame ports and streaming media ports.
