Lame Question: processor "Stepping" and "Week" ?

all right, who can be the first to answer my lame question ?

i've checked the FAQ's and can't find anything about it. i hear you guys talking about the week and stepping of your processor because it factors into the "quality" of your processor. i was just wondering how to find out which one i have ? i have an XP1800 that i bought like 6 months ago. is there some way to decipher what's stamped on the processor to figure out which kind i have ? any input is appreciated, thanks.

The "week" is simply the actual week of the year that the CPU was manufactured.
