I think it is logical. How much MORE power would a 3500 pound vehicle need to hit 0-60MPH in under 3s? After all, isn't performance the goal regardless of how it got there?

Using this calculator it would take in the region of an extra 245 BHP to get a 3500 pound car to 60 in under 3 seconds...
Update:
To get closer to 2.5 seconds (as claimed) it would take an extra 810 BHP.
Weight... or rather lack of it rocks
