I'm far from edgy and I have no idea who anyone is in this thread. I know of that one Kardashian woman that's married to the rap guy but I don't think that I've actually ever seen her on TV (not speaking anyway, I've seen her in news clips).

So, not edgy, no idea who they are, don't particularly give a crap about any of them. I suppose that it's sad in an abstract way that the guy is unwell but I deal with unwell people every day.

But that isn't the point, is it? The point is since you so aptly pointed out, everyone is going to die. You shouldn't care the least if anyone (even someone close to you) definitively says your kid/loved one is going to die if they are in critical condition and have a chance of living. Because they are just pointing out the obvious that everyone dies, right? But we all know you would be the first to care.

Honestly, just spend more time trying not to pretend to be an Asshole.
