i agree with you, but for some reason, nba tonight gave the lakers the fourth (maybe fifth) deepest bench in the NBA

hmmm i think they play their best when they get a roll going... idunno it looks like everyone is just staring at the ball with no one really going for an rebound unless it was going to them. then they got that little run going and everyone starts moving again... weird.

I guess in comparison to the top western teams they don't have such a good bench. Their starting lineup is so stacked they don't need to rely too much on their bench, but when you play San Antonio you need a good bench and Walton/Medvedenko won't do it.

Agreed. TWolves and Grizzlies are very deep this year. Lakers and Kings, bleagh.

man, Kings win on the road against Houston and Lakers lose at home to the Spurs. What a glorious day.

And I just love how selfish the entire Laker's team is. It's like whenever someone on their team gets embarrassed or makes a bad play, he feels like he has to do something on the other end of the floor, and then ends up screwing it up again.

And that last play by GP was hilarious. What a clutch player.

You're smoking if you think 7 is deep, considering Griz play 10 deep and Miller and Bobby are injured. The Kings defensively aren't as good as they were last year with Keon Clark and Jim Jackson off the bench. In the west, the 3 teams that've allowed more points than Sac are Dallas, Clippers, and Phoenix (just barely too). If Sac can play some D and get over the 4th quarter chokes then they might make it out of the 2nd round. But if they don't improve and Portland sneaks in for the #8, then I'll call 1st round upset.

Kings are a lot like the 90s Sonics and the current Mariners. Great regular season record, couldn't get it done in the playoffs. If you want an example of teams that play with a sense of urgency, check out the Spurs and Lakers. Awesome at winning statement games.

The west is tough, and with young teams like Houston, Denver, and Memphis on the move, Sac's window is closing very fast. It's this year or never. Personally I don't think they're as deep or as good as they were 1-2 years ago (Hedo, JJ, Keon, Pollard, Barry, younger and healthier Divac & CWebb, etc).

your smoking if you think the Grizzlies have a shot at anything regardless of their bench ;)

yes, there kings defense sucks but what are you going to do? they always sucked at D but that doesnt mean their bench isnt deep. Miller and Bobby J wil be back for the playoffs and that not all they have, i forget his name for the time being, but they have another forward that has showed great play off the bench (Wallace something or other???).

the kings are nothing like the M's and the Sonics of the 90's. they went to the western conference finals two years ago and would have most likely had it there last year if it wasnt for the playoffs. the kings comes to play in the playoffs.

on a side note, i believe this is the first time a 6th man of the year and an allstar are coming off the bench

Sac town still has two huge games with the lakers and the T-wolves. both will be at home but they way they are playing lately, its gonna be tough. hopefully they can get their $hit together and build some momentum before playoffs time. i hope webb comes off the bench once miller gets back though

Griz won't make it out of the 1st round this year. I only mentioned them as a counter to Sac's supposedly deep bench. And what good is a bench that can score but can't play D? D wins championships ya know. Sac doesn't have the depth they did a couple years ago, and this year it's going to hurt them.

I bet I can count all the championships the M's and Sonics won in the 90's on my third nipple.

And no, CWebb shouldn't come off the bench. On the contrary, he should play as many minutes as possible before the playoffs begin. Waiting till playoffs to try and mesh the starting lineup will be too late. You Kings fans seriously have no faith.

The Grizzlies may have a larger rotation of the Kings, playing up to ten guys, but that doesn't make their bench better. I'd take Peeler, BJ, and Miller coming off the bench over what the Grizzlies offer. Also, it is normal for a 7-8 man rotation in the playoffs instead of 10. Things just seem to mesh better with 8.

I think he was talking about Miller as the all-star off the bench, not Webber. There's no debate as to who should start, it's Webber. That point is kinda moot right now because Miller has missed a couple games with an injury, so there's no one to really replace Webber for now.
