<<Jerry Buss needs to open his pocketbook and spend some money to get some players this offseason. Luxury tax be damned. If he won't do it, he needs to sell the rest of the team Phil Anschutz, who has the large pockets. >>

I agree. I don't understnd why the Lakers are so afraid of the luxury tax. I think Laker fans have been feeding the franchise loads of money. Even Portland spends more money than the Lakers. Sh!t, ask Jack Nicolson to chip in. I bet he wouldn't mind paying some money to see this Laker team win.

I think after this season, there should be some serious discussion on how to get a third consistent scorer. It used to be Fisher but he's not doing it.

I may be a Laker fan...but at the level they are playing as of now...they don't deserve to win!!!

<<What's this, Laker Fans bailing on their team like rats abandoning a sinking ship? Come on, remember the Celts 4 quarter yesterday? I guess not. >>

We're not bailing. As real fans we have the rights to criticize. This team isn't playing like the champions that they are. It doesn't mean we'll ditch them after the season. Just need to discuss some serious issues here.

I'm not bailing, I think they can come back, anything is possible (after seeing that 2000 WCF against Portland, I always think they have a chance in a game). But, the fact that they are in this hole in the first place is what I'm pissed about. The Lakers came in this game with their back's against the wall, and but they are playing like they are up 3-0. I expect a lot more. I'm just ranting about things that have been obvious problems with this team all year, and will continue to be regardless if they win this game.

IIRC, the Lakers are one of the most profitable teams in the league. But isn't Buss pretty much the only owner? A lot of the other teams are owned by corporations, so it doesn't directly impact the owner if the team blows a wad of cash on the payroll.

16-6 comeback by the lakers.

then they let the kings score 5 straight to push it back to 17. that's the problem with big comebacks. you have to expend so much energy to come back, that one play can make the momentum swing the other way quickly

Oh, they will lose.
The Kings have clearly dominated the Lakers thus far. Weber and Co. are gonna be wearing a pretty gold rings by the end of June and Shaq and Kobe will be golfing early this year.

I have no idea. There are enough celebrities in LA to friggin' buy the Kings. Let's start a Laker fund to get another real point guard to the Lakers 😉

I'm just hoping the Lakers can get within 10 or so entering the 4th.

Lakers don't need a point guard - they need a power forward to play alongside Shaq. When he's had a good 4, his teams have played very well. But Samaki Walker doesn't fit the bill.

They should look at getting a guy like Melvin Ely or Carlos Boozer in the draft, both of whom should be around when the Lakers pick.

I feel bad for you guys, no matter what else happens we Boston fans got our money's worth out of that 4th quarter action against the Nets, when Pierce wakes up, he really wakes up !

He's the majority owner, with a few minority owners. The other largest owner is Phil Anschutz who owns just about 28% of the team. And Phil Anschutz has a huge pocketbook, but Jerry Buss does not want him to open it. Plus, Buss has had numerous offers from his big money friends to buy a big chunk of the team and bankroll it so he doesn't have to put up so much cash, but he doesn't want to do it. I think Jerry Buss is one of the best owners in sports, and I wish his type of ownership could continue, but the large corps and billionaires are starting to make it hard on him.

Lakers cut a huge chunk off of that lead, it's doable to win this game. They need to avoid what they did in game 3, which was a slow start to the second half. They did this in game 3 too. They got down big, cut into it before halftime, and then forgot to come out to play in the second half. If they can win the first 5 minutes of the second half, this will get real interesting. Doesn't change the fact that Fisher is the worst defender in the NBA though.

bibby was pretty much schooling whoever was on him, doesn't matter if its fisher or kobe (drink a sprite and eat at mcdonalds) bryant.

worst in the NBA? come on, he's not that bad 🙂

OK, worst STARTING defender in the league. There are players that come off the bench that are worse than him, but he's the worst that starts for his team. He's never been good, and since his foot injuries, he's worse. He is incapable of even slowing down dribble penetration, which just throws the entire defense to hell. Shaq, Walker, Fox and Horry constantly have to leave their man to cover Fisher's after the penetration. It's just killing the defense.

Well, here's to hoping the Lakers can come back and win this game. I think they have it in them, but the first 5 minutes of this half are super important.

Lue was a pretty good defender last year. He sucks like sh!t offensively but he has energy. Maybe Lakers need to find a young guard.

If he's there, they need to draft Juan Dixon.

Lakers CAN whoop the Kings. Game 1 is a very good example. The difference here is confidence. Even when the Lakers go on a spurt, Kings never lose hope or confidence and they're right back at it. Someone needs to pull a Tonya Harding on Mike Bibby 😀

I don't know who Juan Dixon is. Havne't heard of him but he's Hispanic? Be pretty cool to have a Hispanic guy playing on the Laker team 😉

Played for the Maryland Terps, the team that just won the NCAA title. 6-3 guard. Not a true point guard, but he can handle the ball. He can score, and plays excellent defense, and has a huge will to win. He's no savior, but I think he could be a solid player for the Lakers.
