LAKERS on the road to three-peat. New Jersey WHO?!?!??

They won 3 in a row against Spurs, who were also pretty darn good. Favoritism aside, you guys don't think Lakers have the ability to take 3 in a row against Kings? 😛

The Spurs weren't a good team, they would play only 3/4ths the game. Only Duncan could score, but he got shut down with the double teams. The rest of the team stunk it up. Does that sound like the Kings?

tony parker was pretty good against the lakers. plus u forgot to note that the lakers defense is one of the key reason why spurs couldn't finish the 4th quarter. don't count that out, plus the fact that the lakers have more experience in desperate situations/playoff. a good example of the kings flopping badly is the 4th in game 3.

The defense was good because Duncan got double teamed every time and couldn't score. No one on the Spurs helped him out by hitting open shots. The Spurs imploded, that is why they lost. Besides, winning three in a row when you are tied at 1-1 is not the same as winning 3 when you are down 3-1.

The Kings did flop badly in the 4th, but the Lakers were also extremely lucky. Not even great 3-point shooting teams can routinely go 7-10 (or something like that) from the 3 point line in the 4th

I'm not a lakers fan, but I'll admit that if there's anyone that can come back and win 3 games in a row, it's the lakers

It would all depend on what kind of game it ends up being today. If they lose a close game, then yeah, the Lakers have the ability to win 3 straight. If they get blown out like they almost did in game 3 (almost because they made the scoreboard look decent at the end), then no, I don't think they'll come back to win it all. The Lakers aren't used to losing 3 straight, and definitely not in the playoffs. In the back of their minds they always think "No big deal, we'll come back." But if they lose 3 straight, and the last two at home, then they'll believe that less, and that's when they become REALLY vulnerable.

If Lakers lose today and down 3-1, are they capable of winning 3 in a row???

Phil Jackson isn't 126-49 for nothing, and the lakers aren't 2x world champions for nothing as well. They also smeared everyone in the playoffs last year, and have pretty much done it this year until the kings, they got off to a really crappy start in the last game, and really showed an awesome fourth quarter on friday night, I don't rule anything out until the series is officially over.

I'm as big a Kings fan as anyone, but i know, as well as the Kings know, that the series isn't over till a team wins 4 games. Being down 2-2, 3-1, it all doesn't matter until someone wins four. Hopefully the Kings can keep the pressure on and play their team game enough to get that 4th win.

But i'm pretty sure the Kings know that if anyone can win 3 in a row to win the series, its the 2 time defending champion Lakers.

Go Kings!

i hope not. did u guys see the interview with webber and bobby jackson? omg what a buncha cocky POS. lakers are modest compared to them. i just hope lakers rip the series from their heart and send them home thinking about the smack they talk.

Webber and Jackson being cocky?
The Lakers are so bad....before this series Rick Fox looked past the Kings and guareented victory.
Shaq is pretty bad too, he thinks that no team can beat the Lakers without cheating, that is a pretty bold
statement too.
Kobe is the most modest of the bunch, but he is the only one. If the Lakers lose Kobe takes it and
says the other team played better, he does not whine about the refs. like Shaq did after game two.

Lakers won 2 championships back to back. I think they have the right to feel cocky. You shouldn't really take anything Shaq says seriously because he's a comedian. Plus webber and bobby jackson were pretty direct in their statements.

BTW, about game 2. I never really pay attention to the whining by players but even Phil Jackson made a big deal about it. I think he's won enough championship and coached enough games to know what he's talking about.

ehh i don't think its cockiness. its confidence and a 'swagger' that all the sportswriters talk about it. they're no longer scared of the lakers and know they can play em straight up. they've broken that aura of 'invincibility' that everyone and their momma said the Lakers had for being a lock for the title so i don't blame them for talking the way they do, especially since everyoen gave them no shot at even winning a game or two. Granted, the series isn't over and they still need two more wins to close em out.

After watching part of Game 3...(it was unbearable to finish watching it)...I give it to the Kings for playing team basketball...The lakers cannot rely on Shaq/Kobe to get a title...and if thats the way it goes..then Kings will take this series....

azim <- [still a lakers fan...but not playing worthy of being champions]
