Anyone from the Lakers side of the fence care to comment on that phantom over-the-back call against Divac (I think it was Divac)? Shaq never got touched but he acted like he got struck by a freight train. Even Ainge and company laughed about that call. Point is...to everyone crying about bad calls...is it happens both ways. ;P

It's called giving Flope some of his own medicine. Shaq can't stand centers who won't play him straight up without flopping around, so he gave Vlade a taste of what it's like when a guy flops against you. Don't give me that "Shaq is so big, how else can you play him" garbage, because Flope flops against EVERYONE. The dude will flop against a guard just as quick as he'll flop against Shaq.

I think Kings fans seem to forget that Vlade was once a Laker ( Yes, I know you're not a Kings fan Gaard). They act like the guy doesn't flop, and Laker fans are the only ones who notice. I've got news for them, Vlade was a flop artist long before he was a King, and we used to comment on it all the time when he was a Laker. He's gotten much worse as a King, but he's been doing it his whole career. The guy is notorious in the league for his flopantics.

As far as the calls in that game, I'm not going to comment on them. That Shaq play was one of the few I saw because I got home with about 5 minutes left to go in the 4th, so I missed most of the game. But, I will say that a 25-5 free throw advantage for the Kings in the first half is a bit odd.

Just so everyone here knows that it happens on every team. Divac just happens to be better at it than most. 😀 Nobody will ever be as good at it as my hometown hero Rodman though. Ever wonder why he always had a bad back? 😀

Divac may be pretty good at flopping, but Fisher has perfected the "Who...me?" look when called for a foul. Watch him Friday night when he gets whistled...that guy cracks me up with his actions after the refs catch him. 😀

Fisher is Fisher, I don't like his flopping anymore than I like Vlade's. Fisher's job is to hit open threes, and he does that. But defensively he leaves a lot to be desired, and often gets foul calls because his man beat him off the dribble on the perimeter, and he reaches in to make up for it. That's his fault

But, if you want to see some serious "Who me???" looks, see damn near every King after they are called for a foul. They spent a large amount of time arguing calls in game 1. So much so, that the NBC commentators were saying something about it every time a foul was called. Plus, did anyone see Chris Webber throw a temper tantrum after all the calls in game 2? I saw some highlights of that, it was ridiculous. He was motherfcking every ref within an earshot after every foul. He never got a T though because he already had one from the first quarter.

That's not to say some Lakers don't cry at fouls. Samaki Walker and Devean George have a habit of doing that, and it drives me nuts. I'm sitting there yelling at the TV for them to shut up and play.

I can hardly ever tell if Webber is pissed, happy, or what. He always has that look like he's in some major pain. 🙂 Yeah, I saw him throwing one of his many hissy fits. Ainge said he needs to work on keeping focused...he gets distracted too easily. 😀 Yeah, ok Danny...distracted. Like a young Mourning maybe. 😉

Shaq elbows too much when he has the ball and he also charges into people's chest. I saw that in the San Antonio Series again duncan and robinson and I see it now against vlade. And there was this one foul that was called on vlade for pushing shaq which was total BS, vlade barely touched shaq and shaq ran out of bounds, there's no way a 300 pound guy can get pushed around like that. Vlade does flop, but shaq fouls too. Either way, i'm rooting for Kings even though i live in LA. I hate the lakers, their tix are too damn expensive and only the damn rich people w/ their freaking cell phones can afford 'em. P.S. Shaq travels like crazy.

When was the last time you went to a sporting event? ticket prices are expensive all over the league. Granted, the Lakers are higher than some teams, but it's all supply and demand. The tickets sell out no matter what, so they charge a premium. For the level of the team, it's a better deal than some places. Have you seen ticket prices for the Golden State Warriors? That team is so bad, they should pay you! And the Knicks, they SUCKED this year, and they have the highest average ticket price in the league.

I think the last time I was at a Pistons game was late '80s. (Coincidentally, that's about the time I got married...haven't been back since) I remember the money spent for gas and refreshments for the ride there 😉 was more than the tickets cost. It's a 3 hour drive from here. Of course, ticket prices for professional teams in Detroit have never been hard to come by. 🙂

I just want to add that as rotten as they are, the most fun I've had from attending any pro sporting event (Lions, Tigers, Pistons, US Open) was attending the games at Tiger Stadium. I have yet to go to a game at their new stadium, but Tiger Stadium always had that neighborhood ballpark feel to it and everytime I was there I had a blast. And you could buy a ticket from the change you find in your couch. 🙂

Here we go. I think whoever wins this game will probably take the series. If LA wins it'll probably be too deep of a hole for the Kings to dig themselves out of. Admittedly, they'd only be down 1 game but with LA only needing to win 2 out of the next 4 plus homecourt advantage it'd be too much. If Sac wins they'd get homecourt advantage back plus have a lot of momentum.

I'm the hugest kings fan and i'm impressed by their showing so far.

Being up by 21, if they still lose and the Lakers come back to win it, then they deserve to be 3 peat champs.

If the Kings hold on to win it, ooooh man be prepared to see a whole lot of sportswriters eat their words.
