I agree. It looks like Shell is pulling excuses out of their hat to lay people off. Kind of like 9/11, many companies were in trouble prior to the terrorist attacks. However, they used the incidents from 9/11 to shed major amounts of their employees and blame it on the 9/11 attacks.

Oh, and I find it ironic how the original poster of this thread is able to tie his potential lay-off to President Bush and our terrorist warning system. You should be thankful that America has standardized a method for alerting us of potential "trouble spots" - however, changing colors in the warning system should not paralyze us - but, should tell us to be more alert in certain situations.
