Lag spikes with my linksys BEFSR41 :(

Hello, I have had my linksys befsr41 router for a few months now and it has worked fine. Recently I have developed a problem in games. No matter what server or kind of game im in, every 2 minutes almost exactly I have a huge lag spike which freezes everything up. The lag spike last from 2-6 seconds and is sortof annoying. I have unhooked the router and connected to just the cable modem and it works fine. When I hook it back to the router I have the lag spike again. I got the latest firmware and it still didnt fix it. I have everything set to default and I havnt changed anything before or after the lag spike on the router. I don't know what to do now. I don't have the receipt from the router but it is still under warrenty.
 
I had the exact problems, too! I would once in a while lag in CS. Maybe once every 4-5 hours at a time. Not too big of a deal for me as it is for you. I upgraded to the latest firmware and all is well. I haven't noticed the spike come back.
