I don't have much advice, other than to say that you can create your own luck, and that things will eventually turn up. Everyone has their shot; most of the time, we have to struggle through a lot of stuff before we get our chance to shine, though.

We all know someone like your friend; the thing is, we don't see what goes on behind the scenes for them.

Good luck; I'm hoping things pick up for you.

i think psychology has a lot to do with this... happy people are more likely to succeed than people that aren't. which says something about being on rolls and getting stuck in ruts.

Yup, we learned about that in sociology. It's called the "self-fulfilling prophecy". Basically, if you believe you'll do well, you probably will because your conscious and unconscious will be working together to help you succeed.

So for a person like me am I stuck to forever not think I'll do well? I have crappy self-esteem. I hate life in general.

B4 you shoot yourself, write an"L" on your forehead!!

seriously, i agree with entity. you create your own destiny. if your friend can find a better paying job, you can too. you just need to be patient. staying in school till you graduate will pay off in the future. YOU NEED TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

no, i wouldn't say that... you just gotta start being happy at some point. i'm not saying your should force it or something, but i'm saying that you're not doomed to a life of misery...

My friend is not in school. He was going to the same school as I but dropped out to work full time at another job.

I just feel he has like A LOT of luck behind me, a lot of money behind him, and just a lot of good positive things behind him.

well one rec. i have is not to compare yourself to others, because you'll never be happy that way... there'll always be someone who seems to have it better. it's better to focus on your own life, and eventually things will start to look up

That's very true, thanks for the sound advice.

It just sucks sometimes when people IM you and brag about their new position or how much phones they've sold and I just can't help but be angry and jealous because I'm here doing nothing.

My paycheck didn't even come in the mail today.

Majority of my paycheck is going to 24 Hour Fitness where I don't even go there to do any type of exercise.

I'm sick of myself this way but there are other factors holding me back like my girlfriend. If I tell her I want to go she'll probably not talk to me because she can't go out or something I don't really understand my life. There are tons of things in my life that is holding me back from doing so much stuff in life that it isn't even funny.

Life will get better, give it some time. I try not to worry about my situation to much. I just try to do the best I can and treat people with respect. Just keep on keeping on, things will get better, it is just stuff like the economy sucks and stuff like that. I learned a long time ago not to judge people on apearences (sp). One of my friends, whom I thought had things going really well for her, didn't have things going at all like outward apearences. I won't get into details, but her personal life was totally messed up. Anyway just do the best you can do and will usually get better.

How can they pay you less than minimum wage? Don't you work at a Kiosk?

Do you get tips?

yea, i know how you feel... i get that way sometimes. only solution is to go out there and do something :p stick with stuff you're good at (but still looks good to other people) if you're feeling down.

Isn't min. wage like $5.35? So he is making more than minimum wage, unless he is in a state where it is higher.

Well they said they're going to pay me 60/40 of my original base pay which is $10.00 an hour. That equates to $6.00 an hour and the rest will be filled by commission. So I guess they'll be able to pay me less than minimum and the rest will have to be with commission.

I really enjoy this job because I work by myself. I do everything at my own pace. I have NOBODY watching over me.
