i think psychology has a lot to do with this... happy people are more likely to succeed than people that aren't. which says something about being on rolls and getting stuck in ruts.

Yup, we learned about that in sociology. It's called the "self-fulfilling prophecy". Basically, if you believe you'll do well, you probably will because your conscious and unconscious will be working together to help you succeed.

So for a person like me am I stuck to forever not think I'll do well? I have crappy self-esteem. I hate life in general.

My friend is not in school. He was going to the same school as I but dropped out to work full time at another job.
I just feel he has like A LOT of luck behind me, a lot of money behind him, and just a lot of good positive things behind him.

well one rec. i have is not to compare yourself to others, because you'll never be happy that way... there'll always be someone who seems to have it better. it's better to focus on your own life, and eventually things will start to look up
It just sucks sometimes when people IM you and brag about their new position or how much phones they've sold and I just can't help but be angry and jealous because I'm here doing nothing.
Majority of my paycheck is going to 24 Hour Fitness where I don't even go there to do any type of exercise.
I'm sick of myself this way but there are other factors holding me back like my girlfriend. If I tell her I want to go she'll probably not talk to me because she can't go out or something I don't really understand my life. There are tons of things in my life that is holding me back from doing so much stuff in life that it isn't even funny.

Isn't min. wage like $5.35? So he is making more than minimum wage, unless he is in a state where it is higher.
Min. Wage is 6.75 here in Oregon, IIRC. heh...Originally posted by: Willoughbyva
