I'm buying a new house, throughout the negotiations, my gf has been waaayyyy supportive. It's gonna cost a bit more than originally planned. I've been "whining" all along that money might get tight and that I didn't want to completely drain my savings. House needs new carpet and vinyl, kinda whined about that. ALL ALONG she has been volunteering to help with those costs, me being a GUY has said "nope." The other night I "suggested" that I had to be able to afford all this should we someday not be we. All the sudden, closing is looming ahead and I'm jacked about new carpet and vinyl"what can I say, it's a guy thing." And all the sudden she thinks carpet and vinyl can wait. I can see both sides of the story here, my question is twofold...A)should I drain the savings to move in with new carpet and vinyl, and B)Is she not really planning to be around that long?
