Ladies, do you really need so much clothing?

My wife has: our master bedroom closet, 2 cedar boxes, 2 dressers, 14 5gallon rubbermaid tubs, 1 armoire, 2 4 droor shelving stacks, and two large tubs under our bed. All her clothing. I get 2 3foot hanging posts in the laundry room. There isn't anywhere to put my clothes in our bedroom or even in the upstairs of our house.

Is it really that necessary to have that much clothing?

They like to look nice. This is more often then most guys and at least 50% of the guys here.

Not necessary but they like it. They buy it and they look nice. Probably one of the reasons why she is you wife. Not saying she is materialistic but I bet you thought she looked nice in whatever situation you saw her in right?

They also buy fashion magazines and also seem to *update* on a seasonal basis also.........well to me that is a bit much. Just buy what you like and just stuff what is *in fashion* but whatever magazine. If it looks nice wear it..........

No...I think it's important to limit your wife's clothing selection to make room for power tools and computer gear ;)

it is not unreasonable to expect to be able to hang your clothes somewhere near where you dress, though.. maybe you can negotiate her off-season stuff to the laundry room and get some of your stuff into the bedroom closet..
more likely to happen if you offer to help with the switch!

Does she actually use all of it?

There is no point in having clothing lying around that is never worn.

Good god, why does she need so many clothes? That must've cost a fortune. I bet if she went through them, she could throw out over half of them because she never wears them.

As far as I go, my husband has way more clothes than I do. Hell, I wear his tshirts most of the time. They're nicer than mine. I do not fall under the "high-maintenance female" category.

Yeah, i am pretty proud of my wife. She doens't buy a ton of clothes or have a ton of clothes. She still looks nice but doesn't require a new outfit everytime she goes out. We have a walk-in closet one side is hers, one is mine, We also have a chester drawer that we split half and half. Then she has a small night stand with some drawers in it that she uses for T-shirts, old shorts, Socks, ect.

My mother on the other hand.....

I wouldn't go to another room to get my clothes though, i would definitely make my wife split the bedroom space, and she put her extra stuff that she can't fit anywhere else (unless I space left over) in the laundry room or something.

It is better they get bored with their clothes than get bored with their man.
