I thought Kernal and Colonel were different things. I always pronounced Col. Col-loh-nel. And people laughed, until recently did I learn that it's pronounced "Kernel." lol. Sounds almost French. Pronouncing "Colonel" phonetically w/ a heavy french accent sounds like "kernel" lol.
