hi,

just got an epox 9nda3j, amd 64 3000+ 939, and corsair(sp) pc3200 1GB value select. i moved up from an amd 1700+, pc2700, and a cheapo msi board. sad to say, but i see no difference in performance. are there some mobo optimization/settings hints i should know about? maybe something else?

thanks,
k

Did you install the AMD driver from the Disc? Also in what respect do you see no difference? In games? If so what games. Or just surfing the net, encoding CDs....etc

For general performance, you will not see an improvement.

However video, mp3's, games, and multitasking should be much faster.

yeah, i installed the drivers from the disc. as for my video card, it is on the way out: fx5200. i will be getting something much better shortly, though i'm still bouncing back and forth between options....like everyone else here.

in any case, for general apps and surfing all seems to be the same. i thought i'd get some sort of noticeable improvement. guess i was wrong. i'll only see it in games and burning dvd's and so forth.

general apps, and surfing the internet are far from demanding tasks, so it would be pretty hard to notice a major differance.

Any PC built in the last 5 years will eat office apps for breakfast!!!!

In any case if you do run any games you will quite likely be graphics card limited....so no difference will be seen there until that bottleneck is ironed out......
