Lack of improvement in WU time(S@H 2.4 CLI)

It doesn't seem to matter whether I run my C2 566 at 850 or 918, as far as WU time is concerned. I average somewhere between 7hr to 7hr 15 minutes. I realize that WU time will fluctuate WU to WU, and I've only been running S@H for less than a month, but it seems to me like there should be a more noticeable improvement. Any advice to tweak, or explanation on why?

first off, get v2.70 or better. secondly, is your memory running at cas 2-2-2?

make sure you set the screen saver to go to blank screen right away. also, if you want to truly benchmark your system at the 850 and 918, make sure you use the same packet. that will show you how much faster your system is. also, get a program that optimizes your cache, like cacheman. you could also try running seti from a virtual hard drive on your ram.

Does seti 2.7x gui work with SetiDriver? I've been using 2.4 in conjunction with SetiDriver because this PC is on modem, therefore not online all the time. My memory is running 3-3-3, by the way. I'll look into cacheman.

the cas settings matter quite a bit, so if you can lower your fsb by a few mhz, and run your ram at 222, then it'll actually improve your times. i don't know about seti driver, but setiq works just fine with 2.70, so i'm assuming setidriver will too. 2.70 is the fastest gui out there, and if you do a search for it in the dc forums, you'll find a bunch of links to it.

I believe SETIDriver only works with the CLI clients, so you'll need to use SETIQ if you switch to V 2.70

Hi Poopaskoopa,

I put a CelII-533/800 in my son's system and he gets about the same time as your 566/850. I have a Cel300a/450 that is not much slower as it runs a WU in about 8 hours. With S@H the memory speed is really important: based on FSB and CAS settings. I have a PIII-550/733 that runs a WU in about 5.4 hours, which gives it nearly a 2 hour advantage over the CelII.
