LaCie 1TB NAS Drive for $275

Is this a 2x500gb or 1x1000gb model? If it's an actual terabyte drive in there, then that's mad hot :Q Still under $300 for a terabyte NAS is a hot deal either way, nice find!

Still not a bad deal then...you're basically getting a free NAS enclosure for the price of two 500gb drives.

only if you buy at regular price. not at $120-$110, dropping sale prices -- of sata's at that.

Unless the newegg picture is deceiving, it doesn't look big enough to house 2x500gb drives. Looks to me like this is just one big drive.

Of course, I could be wrong

I wouldn't trust my data to this. ~1TB of data, and if 1 drive fails, then bye bye to ~1TB of data.

They should have the option of doing RAID 1, so at least if ~500GB drive fails, then you still have a backup.

They need to offer eSATA connection, and RAID 1 support.

It still is a OK deal though if you don't mind the potential of losing all that data.

Not for an external drive. Most of them (including Seagate and WD) are 1 year for externals. Pretty hot warranty for an external, actually.

gigabit is nice too...

I decided to wait, the 1tb drives are gonna hopefully knock the price on this thing down about $50
