Hey folks,

My wife needed a set of new computer speakers so I started to browse around for some. I got my most recent copy of PC Gamer in the mail the other day and saw their reviews of some speakers. Well, these Labtec Pulse-424's got the "Editors Choice" award.

Best Buy is selling these for $39.99 in this weeks add. I bought a set and just finished hooking them up and testing them. Keep in mind that I own the Klipsch Pro Media 2.4's. So, when I hear good quality sound from a computer speaker I know what I'm talking about.

Frankly, everything in the article I read I agree with. For $40, I doubt you can do better than these!! There is a bit missing in the mid range, but I think its because the woofer is so powerful. If you like base, you'll love these. However you can tweak them to sound anyway you want via an eq in your computer. They can definitely bother your neighbors in an apartment!

The Speakers!

So, I think this is a Hot Deal for $39.99 at the Best Buy B&M.

Anyone else have these, please comment.

Scrounger and Mamoose posted this deal already, but it's worth a re-post since people don't seem to be aware that these are great cheap speakers, if there is such a thing!

I bought them at best buy and by far it's the best bang of the buck, very happy with it. Bestbuy will have a preferred customer weekend sale coming up with 10% off, if you guys have a coupon it will make it a hot deal $39.99- $8=$31.99 + tax, so give or take you end up with a awsome set of speaker for about $34. Not bad at all.

This is a valid price on bestbuy.com too. You have to put it in your cart before a discount is applied though.

Oh I forgot to mention that OD has these set of speakers too for $49.99, go there and price match them, then add some thing to make it to $50 and use the $15 off coupon.

My first post, so don't flame me....but unless I'm missing something, you can get these speakers at buy.com for $32.95 here, use the $10 off $30 for new customers....which pretty much eliminates shipping costs....getting you the speakers (with tax and shipped) for $37.01.

The office depot deal would be really good, such as free shipping etc., unfortunately office depot doesn't have these speakers. The ones they have are a different model. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Bought a set of these for my daughter at Christmas, Staples had a $50.00 deal of these and a Muse soundcard. She is an MP3 freak and the house has been shaking ever since, she got rid of her cheap stero because these sound so good. :)

I also read the review in pc gamer and bought a set at buy.com for $45.00 shipped. Labtec
speakers always sucked but these ones surprised me and are well worth it for the money.

Well, I'm feeling good about posting this deal again. I didn't even think about OD having them, but hey for $5.00 I'm not that worried.

Also once again, a big thanks to Scrounger and Mamoose because they did post this deal before me!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!! :)

Schweeeet! Just picked up the 424s and some pens for $40 and some change at my local OD. I would have like to pick up 2 of those 2412 sets, but I didn't see them at any of the 3 ODs I went to. The 424s appear to be sold out as well.

EDIT: Just tried them out. Definitely worth the $40. I've never believed in computer speakers (other than the free ones for po' people) as I've always connected my PC to home stereo, but the sub actually had some decent punch. Still nothing compared to my JBL 16" box, but it's loud enough to piss off my neighbors hehe. If you don't have speakers (good ones), I'd go for this.

My best deal on speakers was still Altec Lansing ACS-22s for $4.99 from Staples after Thanksgiving. That's a deal!

Tempting but I went ahead and connected my computer to my dolby digital system last night and I'm doubting I need PC speakers anymore but for that price I'm feeling I should buy em anyway if they sound as good as you say..

if you can't get the Labtec, you might wanna try Advent AV390PL.
CompUSA had it on clearance a while back for $49 I think.
I think it sound better than the Labtec, although you can't go wron with either one.

Can we pricematch at OD B&M to BB B&M to get the speakers for $40 and toss in something for $10 to get it over $50? Now that would make a really sweet deal!

I thought about doing this at the store, but I didn't want to piss off the managers for fear they might yank the coupon early or something. Somebody post if they have any luck with this.
