These speakers definitely rock for 40 bucks... the subwoofer actually has a lot of kick to it!

It looks like an OK deal, but the site is soooo slow. I think my grandma can move faster than this. I personally prefer the Klipsch Promedia 4.1. This is an area where I don't skimp. I have a U-shaped desk in my office at home and the 4 Klipsch speakers totally kick ass. And if I crank up to 1/2 the volume control, my woofer starts to shake the whole room. One time I was playing UT and someone shot me in the back with the rocket launcher, I almost fell out of my chair!:)

i hate these labtec hedphones(c-110) tho. our dept bought hundreds of these for development workstations and THEY ARE CRUT. i think labtec are the madcatz of the computer industry--when they work, they WORK GOOD, but if they don't...they're the worst. that's why i flodged on the od deal($34.99) with these. but please everybody buy them--if everybody likes them, i'll go in and get a set also

BenRosey,

DUH...

Anyway, I heard these at OD the other day, and they sound pretty good for the price. Buy two of these and run them on your SBLive and you've got a pretty decent 4.2 system for 80 bucks.

Buy.com does have these cheaper. But after shipping, its roughly 39 also.

I'm still trying to get these from my OD, for 39 +(10 free stuff) -10 off 50 coupon. But my local OD is outta stock and has been since the last time this deal was posted.

Link for buy.com is below.

I was looking for one with headphones jack. Bought it today from Onvia for $34.57 + free shipping. Guys, pleasse tell me again that the speakers are good. I have a no name brand right now (bought from a computer fair, claiming to be 100 Watts but no sub-woofer). Thanks!

I bought a pair from Best Buy after reading all the raves about it on these forums.

I think these are nice speakers for the price. The subwoofer is very nice -- nice warm and tight bass. I'm not that happy with the satellites -- the midrange seems a bit weak for DVDs.

It seems like a great pair of speakers for listening to music (CDs and MP3s sound great) but the vocals in DVD movies weren't as clear as my other speakers and I think this indicates some weakness in the midrange. Also, 3D positioning doesn't sound as precise to me.

From a user inteface standpoint, I'd give it an A+. I wish more speakers had a headphone jack like the Labtec Pulse 424s.

Cyber, these speakers are awesome for the price. Got them a couple of weeks ago during the last round of deals for them. The bass that the sub puts is amazing for the price that you pay. Sure, the ProMedias may sound better, but geez. These are the best speakers I have heard under $100.

They have these at B&M Electornic Boutiques as well for the same price. The manager tried selling me a pair yesterday. They didn't sound too bad, I was surprised.

This is kinda a stupid question, but would it work if I got 2 pairs of these and linked em. My soundcard can handle it(MX300). I am looking for more bass than my ACS54's can give me...these sound crazy good to me.

here are some stats just on the sub:
The Altec Lansing ACS 54 have a 4.5 inch Sub: $60 when I bought em last spring
A friends speakers the ACS 45.2's have a 6.5 in. sub: $80 refurbished at Compgeeks(out of stock)
These Labtech ones have a gigantic 8 inch sub: $35 on-line...wowzer

I am thinking that these, when linked will basically blow me out of my room...I like that. All for under $80...which is a kickass deal.

I am seriously considering this now...geeze thanks Anandtech!!!

I bought these for my wife a while back and I'm still impressed with the bang for the buck. If you want a set of speakers for pretty cheap and still get good sound, you should buy these.
