well i cant sleep so ill just post up deals. my friend and i are going to frys later anyways.

i see generic pc2700 256mb $29 which i think is an ok deal.

the xp2400+ oem and ECS k7s5a pro for $89 is smoking. better than the $99 last week. hell my friend is returning his xp2200 and ecs tommorrow that he got at $89 last week. i guess he might have to buy this one . i mean i might even buy it. a 2400+ alone is $80ish + shipping on ebay.

and the 80gb 7200rpm maxtor 8mb drive $99- $50 MIR i think is also hot.
i'd figure this is 80 gb platter in the diamond max 9series. probably good for raid.

My uncle needs a switch for his office and that Siemens looks to fit the bill. Anyone here have any experience using this switch? TIA for any help.

I picked up a couple of the Siemens switches a few weeks back. Works flawlessly in my SOHO environment (LinkSys), and my brother is using the other with DLink equipment -- no compatibility issues at all.

I'm using the Siemens 5-port switch with a cable setup and it works fine. Two friends, who have DSL also never had any problems wit the Simens 5-port sitch. $8.99 and no rebates is a great price. I paid $9.99 for the switch at the Circuit City close out earlier this month.

Great deals, and I shop at Fry's a lot. The ECS boards from Fry's are sometimes iffy. The last one I picked up had the (un)popular "checksum error" and low CMOS battery issue. No amount of resetting the bios, rebooting, or altering bios settings stabilized this board. Stil, the price was fantastic, even for just the processor. I just didn't need the processor alone....already have two 1700+'s w/o MBs.

I returned it Sunday, and the customer service guy said he gets a lot of them back with that issue. Do a search on google for the ECS K7S5A checksum error and read the posts. They have a "no restocking fee on refunds" return policy on these, so it's not that risky, I guess. Unlike some stores. *cough* CompUSA *cough*. ;)

Fort Worth Star-Telegram fry's ad has the same 3 deals. It's on the back of the sports page. They also have p4 2.66/533 and ECS motherboard combo for $190. Thats a combo that will run you $234.50 + shipping on newegg.

WOW, if someone near a Fry's wishes To pick up a xp2400 + ecs for me, I'd pay shipping.

PM me.

Hehe, i think someone could make themselves a lifetime career out of buying Fry's sales items and shipping them to people who don't have a Fry's near them ;)

Doh! I think my board has that same problem! But its already been 30 days. Any idea if Fry's will exchange it or am I out of luck? It only happens once in a while so its not that annoying.....yet.

Just got back from the Manhattan Beach Fry's to get the XP2400/ECS combo. 100% of the boards they sell for this combo are previous returns. Maybe this is why they dropped the price. To get rid of all their returned crap. Bought one anyway...fingers crossed.

Probably not, dont forget that most places with frys charge crazy sales tax(8.5% here). If you include shipping with it and possibility of a need for exchange, the margin for profit is nill.....
