All I have to say is WOW! A lineup of Trout, Trumbo, Pujols, and Hamilton....now they just need some starting pitching and a bullpen that won't blow 25 saves

WOW.. overpaid. 25 million for 5 years? Unbelievable. As a Mariners fan, I welcome them being sunk by their payroll 2-3 years from now

Yeah big time, but you know that the owner has a TV deal coming just like the Dodgers. I'm sure they felt like stealing some of the attention the Dodgers have been getting. As a baseball fan this is fun - seeing Trout, Pujols, and Hamilton hitting 2-3-4 will be entertaining but no way do I sign that check if I'm the owner. They have $400+mm commited to TWO players in their 30's, and they will need money in 4 years to lock up Trout

damn I was hoping the dodgers might get him. angels are the clear favorite in the AL now with that kinda squad and the coaching.

That's fine now, but in two years, Trout will be the only productive name on that list. 5 years of Hamilton is a bad contract like 10 years of Pujols is.

Good for them to go for it, but they're going to have two very unmovable contracts if things get rough.

PS. I'm a Phillies fan and was in favor of the 5/125 Ryan Howard got, but I'm now also very aware of what it does when things go bad.

Hi,

Looks like they're trying to catchup to the other LA team that's trying to buy a World Series.

Sincerely,

Another SF Giants Fan

does this mean that Swisher is a lock to go to the Rangers now? They lost Hamilton, Napoli, and couldn't get Greinke, so they have money to spend....

So they can join us in the cellar?

meh, I'm an optimist. I feel like if we can get a couple of bats in the lineup it is going to help out the younger talent a lot. The lack of offense is.. I forget the word for it, but one of those cycles that makes itself worse.

Pitching is phenomenal. Only going to get better.
