Personally, I dont think it was worth the money.

I havent played in a few months, but the game was buggy as hell. Half the time in multiplayer as zombies, you dont even spawn after your respawn timer is up. That always made me upset.

The game is fun as hell though for about a week. Then.. it just gets so repetitve and predictable it is no longer fun.

There's only 4 campaigns, co-op is fun for a few days. Multiplayer gets old even quicker.

That's just me. I have no desire to ever play it again soon.

well it was until a patch a few weeks ago that basically made the game unplayable to due stuttering.
so, i read to 'turn off multi-core support' and i do, fixes the stuttering buy my performance suffered significant decline. I don't know by how much, but i could tell my fps dropped quite a bit when the action was hot n heavy, which, unfortunately is most of the time.

i havent fired it up in about 2 weeks, maybe things have been fixed.

I think im going to wait for it to hit the $30 price point to purchase. Also need to get some friends on board to play it.

So you can do invites to play with friends? Also I dont suppose 360 and PC users can play together?

360 and PC players are separate last time i played.

As with any game, console players would get annihilated.

Unless they pound PC players with a nerf bat like in shadowrun...which is pretty much the same as just banning PC players from multiplayer when it comes right down to it.

Lies! vista works beautifully as a gaming machine, and you dont need 4gigs of ram to run vista well.

I think it was worth it, but it can get a little boring if it's the only game you play for a while. I got it shortly after release and it's been neat to watch the progression in tactics since then, especially in vs mode. People finding new ways to play it keeps it interesting, for example, back when I started nobody ever tried to do the rooftop ambush in the NM finale and now that's pretty much standard. I just wish the levels weren't quite as straightforward, maybe a randomly generated map with some dead ends and other little quirks to work out for the first time as you play through.

Check out your local Circuit City to see if it's in stock. Last night, the CC I checked out had a bunch of L4D for the PC at 30% off. I heard that they dropped the prices to 40% off today and that'd make it $30.

Each person has their own taste. I was surprised to read a few people below who didn't like it.

For me, personaly - it was worth the $40 I paid for it back in December, and IMO worth $50 (although search for the best price). I love playing in Vs. mode and have no problem joining in on pick up groups with people I don't know. Of course, sometimes those groups end up in lopsided beat downs, but I still usually have fun.

Overall, if you love competitive action and online play, you will love this game and it will provide you with hours upon hours of enjoyment (esp if you already know you enjoyed the demo).

I guess I'm one of the few that never had problems with the multi-core option.

it's definitely worth it, but valve is getting obnoxiously slow in releasing the other campaigns for vs.

people are losing interest because its the same 2 campaigns in vs.

It's worth it. Here's my take:

I don't like zombie stuff (I know it seems odd that I would play L4D), but it's a very well done game. You can tell that the developers and designers really put some effort into the game. It doesn't feel hackish at all, the only possible exception being the lack of content.

It's a very dark, drab game, which you would expect. It's also very twitchy. I don't like either aspect. The gameplay is fun though, especially with friends. The mode where you take turns being survivors and zombies is a blast.

It almost reminds me of the fun I had playing Duke 3D and Shadow Warrior back in the day. Almost.

It's pretty fun even though I suck at it. I suggest buying it because even if the setting and storyline aren't your thing, we need more games like this. Seriously.

It is very hard to get a server going though. I think my friends and I have about a 1/5 or 1/10 success rate.
