L2TP (I think) question

Hey, so here's my problem. I have DSL coming in to my dsl modem, hooked up to a wireless AP, lasering to my computer. Now, if I hook a p1 computer to mine through nics and crossover, while it IS getting ICS, it isn't getting DHCP from the DSL modem (which is my dhcp server). So if I were to host on it (which is really the only use of a p1 computer) I'd really only be able to see it from my computer. I was told L2TP would act as a sort of NAT for this, then relayed to real NAT to the internet. Would this work or am I way off?
