I enjoyed playing the Mafia 2 (minus mucho driving around) and i do not see any reason why not on this one.
Not to mention the game should look great on s3d just like Mafia2.
The game release is heavily shadowed by MW3.

I dunno. I saw some game play videos of the "detective work" and it's nothing more than moving your mouse around until the clue starts glowing. :|

Waiting to see some reviews on this. The release date is terrible - sandwiched between MW3 and Skyrim.

Well, I am a bit weary of military shooters. Cruising around in a fedora with a revolver solving crimes might be a nice change of pace. Wish they issued a demo.

I also just noticed that this was released today. I watched a couple of case playthroughs on youtube when it first came out and I didn't think rockstar would release it for pc (Red Dead Redemption). I'm interested in it but as said before it's a horrible release date. For me I'll be putting all my gaming time into Skryim for the forseable future and after that I want to play Arkahm City. I'll probably pick it up early next year on sale before Mass Effect 3 hits. The worst thing about the release date is that it might effect early sales enough so that rockstar can justify not porting some games like Red Dead onto the pc.

Edit: RPS review up now: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/11/08/la-noire-pc-review/

I played it on the 360 and thought it was a fun game. I know there are plenty of people who found it boring. It's one of the few, if not the only, game I finished completely. 5 stars on all cases, 100% completion, 1000 achievements.

I have been waiting for this to hit PC. Provided its not a total hack job, I will get it for sure. For the car chases if nothing else 🙂

Bought this on Amazon yesterday because I saw the download version on sale for $25. I'm unable to get this to run. Can get to the launcher but when I click on Launch Game, it just closes and the game does not start.

Tried reinstalling and also installing to a folder without spaces as suggested on another site and still no luck. Just curious if anyone has gotten this to run?

I got the game through Steam and had to close down Steam and then right click on on the Steam icon and choose run as adminstrator. Don't know if this helps or not.http://support.rockstargames.com/en...steam-version-of-l-a-noire-on-windows-vista-7

I've tried running all the executables via run as administrator. I can see in the task manager the exe start then immediately close.

I installed the latest NVIDIA drivers for my GTX 470. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with my AV disabled. I've also turned off UAC.

A bit frustrating to say the least but seems to be par for the course with Rockstar games being they are usually horrible console ports and have alot of issues that need patching. The game not starting at all though is a bit puzzling.

So anybody pick this up in the recent Steam sale? I played it for several hours on the weekend and it does a lot of things that I love; it actually feels a lot like Mafia II, but with even more cut scenes.

The map usage is kind of clunky as is some of the movement, probably a bit of console-itis, but I am really enjoying the story elements now that I have cleared the opening cop scenario (that had some weird, choppy story elements with flashbacks that made no sense to me).

While some of the mo-cap faces are decent, most of them are pretty damn creepy. D: The graphics themselves are ok, but nothing great; I'm not that fussed about it though as it's more about the story of the game.

Haven't picked it up, but it's definitely on my list. I'm happy to hear good things about it.

I wonder if the creepy facial animations are the kind of thing only PC players will notice. :awe: Granted, you're the first one I've heard say that.

Heh, very possible, but it's likely just because you spend so much time staring at their faces trying to figure out whether they are lying or not. :hmm:

Hi,

Got a question here. Between La Noire and SR3, which one will I like better, considering my love for GTAIV and much less liking on Mafia II (rather gloomy)?
