Lé thread officíal [updated for fufillable requests]

***EDIT: All links will be available here in a few hours... http://www.fusionworks.xserverdev.com/Goosemaster/***

Well, it?s that time again. Again (my last thread was a disaster due to link problems.

Anyways, I chose a few selections that all of you might like.

The first two are both Sibelius pieces performed by Jascha Heifetz. In my opinion, the Concerto in D minor is Sibelius? best piece, and OP47 is the best part😀 Truly it I my favorite piece period. The Concerto in G, however, might be familiar to many of you. IIRC it was the piece playing in the wedding scene of ?Analyse This? where Robert DeNiro chucks a hitman out the window of a highrise 😀

This next Piece is a nice little number by one Fritz Kreitzer. I haven?t had a chance to play this piece myself although it is a good one. I?ll have to buy the sheet music one day and try it out.

If Grieg is your thing, then you?ll enjoy this next piece. Kind of mellowish, and the melody used in almost every Warner Bros. cartoon. For those who are new to this, you?ve probably heard it in a variety of commercials and movies just to name a few.

Ah. The Maiden in the tower. Siblius isn?t really known for his opera as far as I have found, but he should be. Perhaps opera is not the correct word to use. These are actually Finnish poems put to music IIRC, and they sound quite nice. The First one denoted by the 4 at the end is my favorite of these poems. In addition, unless you have a nice stereo, be afraid to turn it up because this bad boy really stresses your speakers although it provides fantastic results if you are well-equipped.

Finally, I leave you with Holst. Unless you?ve been living under a rock in Wichita, Kansas or something, you?re familiar with Holst or will at least recognize this. This is a really nice recording and it sounds awesome.

Finally, remember that these are all in wma lossless. You will either need Windows XP or Media Player classic to play them, but it is worth it. Remember, lossless because I care 😉

One final note, if you have bandwith to spare PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME HOST THESE. I DO NOT FEEL LIKE HAVING MY EYES BLEED WHEN I GET MY HOSTING BILL.

Thanks.

Enjoy.

P.S. As a "threat" to get you hosting bees buzzing....assuming that the normal vortex of leeching forms in the normal amount of time, these clips WILL go down in few hours if not much sooner.

UPDATE:

You guys used up 6GB + pf traffic :Q Site is down until I get evertyhing on the mirror🙁

Holst - Mars - Bringer of War (updated version) (lossless)

Thanks!

btw, the last song is Mars, the Bringer of War, by Holst - not the Planets - there's a piece for each of the Planets ('cept for Earth).

If I may request a few additional pieces if I may, can I ask for Jupiter, also by Holst, and for Bolero, by Ravel?

Thanks for the Holst, I'd also like Jupiter if possible.

I'm trying to play Holst on my system (Windows 2000) with Media Player Classic, but I get this error - how can I resolve this?

Do you have Concertino for flute and piano Op.107 by Cecile Chaminade?
I love that piece, but I only have a 96kbps mp3 version.

FYI, there's no accent on the word "le"
edit: nm, I'm guessing it's something other than butchered french. Carry on with the classical music appreciation 🙂

thank you very much! I needed something for at school to listen to.
I've gotta get working on my classical collection more.

If it'll help I can put these on my host?

And as a general request, I am looking for cello solos, or pieces that feature the cello more prominently (SP). Man, I need to start playing again.

Aye. You are correct. I simply put the names on them as they are on the album...the ID3 tags carried over right? That piece is from a Denon 24/7 Album. I do have jupiter, but it is a 320Kbits/s version if anyone is interested.

What's up with the stupid thread title?

BTW, could we have something before the Romantic period? 😀

The titlle was jsut celebrating my idiocy with the last thread. I tried to post the links before the files were done uploading and it ended in disaster.

Jupiter will be up then

Love the Sibelius pieces.

May I suggest Hovhaness' Sym #22 "City of Light" mvmt 1? Ives' Sym #3 is great too.

For the Romantic period lovers, I'd suggest Brahms' Sym #3 mvmt 3, or perhaps Dvorak's Sym #7 entire piece.
