I have the latest drivers from hercules.. anyone know wat's wrong? I heard kyros have problems with >256mb ram.. and i have 256, but my comp reads it at 261.. i dunnno.... anyone know wats wrong?? its really getting on my nerves having to restart before i can play cs..

We're gonna need to know more about your system. Power Supply, Motherboard, and sound card would be handy for instance. What driver versions some stuff is using would be good too. But before ya do that, I recommend www.Paraknowya.com, so you can read their FAQ. It has most every problem you can have listed, IF it's the Kyro's fault. Hmm...have you tried a different video card in that system to see if IT works? Have you made REALLY sure that there are NO previous drivers for any previous video cards left in your machine anywhere? It sounds like there are some old drivers clogging the system.

Are you using the 14 series drivers, or if you don't know go to the Display control panel, click Settings, Then Display, then In Support Center there will be "PowerVR Kyro 1.04.XX.XXXX" Yours should read 1.04.14.xxxx if they're the latest for WinXP. (Well actually 1.xx.15.xxxx, but I've heard of people having more problems out of them, but you can try both.) Either or can be found on Hercules' web site. New drivers would be the first thing I'd try. Doubt it is your RAM, as very few people have it with any of the newer drivers, and I've never heard of anyone having it with Our kind of Mobo, (got the K7S5A myself). Gee...is it just CS? Try newer Sound Blastter drivers. Make sure the sound card isn't next to the vid board, (I/O conflicts).

Hey, Teasy, Nemesis, this guy needs some help over here.

Via chipset? Get the VIA/AMD agp patch. then, head to amd's web site and get the AMD patch from them in the DL section. I use to have that prob on my kt266 board.

The K7S5A motherboard uses the SIS 735 chipset so the VIA patch isn't applicable.

Have you tried taking out the audigy gamer to see if that's what is causing the problem?

It does sound to me like your using an old bios, if you've never updated the bios on your motherboard then check out the site below and download the latest one. It will fix alot of the problems your having hopefully!

Another thing to download is the latest agp driver which is currently V1.09.

The standard setting for your motherboard in regard to AGP speed is x4, try setting that to x2 or even x1 to see if that corrects the problem.

Does it crash with any 3D program or just direct3d or opengl programs?

Download bios and drivers from HERE!

Uh, if you're getting mad at me Nemesis, :): Points to Exclamation point:: ), don't. You have no reason to. I wasn't demanding that you immediately come here NOW and totally fix this guys problem..I was asking nicely for backup if you were still around. Same with Teasy, or anyone else who could help. Anywho..

::Smacks Scotty8 for not seeing the "SiS" listed right next to the guys mobo:: ;)

And um, yeah, do what Nemesis said. ::Wonders why he didn't think of BIOS flash and such::

Don't worry about the exclamation mark, it didn't mean anything. It's just a bad habit I've got of putting a ! after everything I say just to wind people up! :D
