It seems at least in that benchmark the K2 demands texture compression in order ot get reasonable frame rates, though one it's enabled it outperforms the GTS by a slight margin.

Too bad the guy didnt have any radeon results as well.

even without FC I think that in 1024x768x32 66 fps is good enough...
ok 110 fps is better but my monitor can only handle 100 hz so 10 fps will not get displayed
;)

Oh, I agree the frame rates are easily more then enough in any case, I was just speaking comparatively between it and it's main competition in the GTS.

By far the best news is that even the mainstream cards (GTS and Kyro2) still manage to score an excellent ~100 FPS at 1024 x 768 x 32, which is very good performance for a game that hasn't even been released yet. You won't require beefy hardware to enjoy this game.

Have you played the game? The author made a demo without other players/bots. I'd say if he'd use other players/bots with gun fire and exposions those 100+fps score are going to be halved.

I just ordered a kryo2 64meg card to go with my cheap athlon950 system i built 2 months back (ive been strapped for cash until now).... And I just wanted to know how do I force the texture compression in the driver when i get it...

Thanks

Theres just an option for it in the driver control panel - its pretty straight forward.
