I'm thinking of getting a cell phone from Cricket here in Phoenix. I like the design of the Kyocera SE47 Slider, but I want to know what are some of ATOTs opinions on the phone. Is it good, any defects, grievances, etc.?

My gf has had one for about 8 months and it's practically broken already. The menus are very non-intuitive and it's pretty flimsy.

I have it. Reception is not as good as the LG VX-6000 (which has absolutely phenomenal reception), however the sound quality is definitely better.

The phone gets a little warm because of the battery. The older ones got REALLY hot, but those were recalled.

The slider is nice, but it's relatively difficult to get open with a single hand. The front is slick (no texture to the metal, it's finished relatively smooth).

Feel of the phone overall is relatively good. There's a little bit of wiggle when the phone is open, but it's pretty solid.

The speaker phone is more useful than I would have originally imagined. I thought I wouldn't use it at all, but it's a pretty nice tool.

Menus are better on the LG and others (ie. Nokia has awesome menus).

Size, shape, and weight are good. Nice form factor overall.

I agree with Apex, overall pretty nice phone. Another bad feature is the horrible design of any leather covers for it. It actually has alot of useful features and the speaker phone is louder than most others I've heard.

demo'd it in the VZW store... didn't like the one-hand slide action... too difficult.. which makes it pointless in my book. Oh and Kyocera's new firmware has worse ringers... I liked their old ones. ;)

ok. I got this phone. The thing i don't like the most is the few options you can set for the shortcut key and that you can't customize all for. That and that the two side buttons aren't used at all except for the menu and contacts... other wise it's good. does anyone know any shortcuts on this that aren't listed in the damn manual. like how to get to options faster and stuff?
