KVM Switch

yeah, I recommend Belkin's. They have some that have USB, Mouse/Keyboard, video, and audio. Makes it perfect for gaming

I use an Avocent myself, and there are problems with it when I play first person shooters that have me using too many keys + mouse at once. Otherwise, I love mine, maybe the newer versions are better...who knows 🙂

A note about the optical mice...

several KVMs still don't support refresh rates higher than the old PS/2 standards...this is why I got my Avocent KVM (because they officially support optical mice at higher refresh rates). I haven't had to buy one in awhile, so I don't know the current state of them 🙂

I have a Linksys 2 port and need to move to a 4 port.

The only problem I've had with the Linksys is "keyboard missing" when I power up a computer. I have to "hit a few keys and move the mouse" to make sure that the computer sees a keyboard exists.

Is this a common problem? How can I avoid it when moving to a 4 port, or is this on all of them?
