I know that MX518 will work with KVM switches but it seems that when I read reviews for KVM's they mention how some of the buttons don't work on mice like the mx 518. Has anyone had an experience with a KVM switch that will allow all the buttons on the mx 518 work properly? Or if not the MX 518 another mouse that has more then the standard 2 buttons and a mouse wheel?

Well I've just been looking.

The one I'm looking at right now is the TRENDnet TK-210K 2-Port USB and PS/2 KVM Switch with Audio.

I did notice that someone made a comment in a review about mice but wasn't specific.

"Pros: Size, reliability.

Cons: Darn beep, but you get use to it. Certain mice don't always work with it."

What I wonder is, if this won't work is there any that work perfectly that cost less then 100 bucks?

I actually continued reading and it looks like someone was able to get their wireless MX 700 mouse to work properly with all the buttons with some tweaking. Also someone mentioned with this they had to do some tweaking to get good quality video from it, I hope their tweaking wasn't lowering the resolution. I know it seems like a lot of KVM's video quality isn't so good when you use high resolution.

I'm fairly certain your mouse will work with the IOGear KVM switches although to be 100% sure you can do a chat with their support which usually takes a few minutes. The rep should be able to tell you if it works or not.

The only experience I have with using a Logitech mouse on an IOGear KVM was with just two buttons. I do use my IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 on several IOGear KVMs and ALL buttons work including the front/back as well as the scroll wheel button.

What model of IOGEAR KVM switch would you recomend? Also was this one a USB one or PS/2? If PS/2 were you using an USB to PS/2 adapter when it worked?
