KVM Switch question

I'm looking into getting a kvm switch but there is one important thing I have to know first. On my computer, when I unplug the keyboard and plug it back in while it is on, the repeat rate goes down to the default rather than the highest setting I have it at until I restart. When I switch the keyboard with a kvm switch, will it have the same effect or does it have some way of countering this?

Why does it matter? The point of a KVM switch is not to have to unplug crap all of the time! Anyways, I'm not sure if that would happen or not..... you'd just have to try it out!

I would just try it out but I don't have one. If anyone that has used them knows, I would apreciate it.

I have a Linksys Proconnect something something, and the settings stay the same for me when I switch back and forth. Basically, they KVM switch doesn't let the computer know what it's doing. According to your computer, the keyboard/mouse never disconnected, you just didn't move the mouse or touch any keys on the keyboard.
