Hi,

I use a dual monitor set up, but I have to switch between two CPUs. Could suggest one or a few KVM brand and model name/number that might let me accomplish this? Are there KVMs that support dal monitors?

Thank you.

I am sure they are out there, but I have a feeling they are very pricey. I haven't found one with a brief search.

When I did this at work I just accepted the fact that one machine would have both monitors and the others would have just one. Good because I could leave my email up on the main machine on the 2nd monitor and do testing on the other.

Anyways, you might want to just get a 2nd KVM w a hardware switch and put it up on your desk. You would switch the first KVM normally (Scr-Scr-2 or whatever) but have to hit the switch on your desk to change the 2nd monitor. For the cost savings the annoyance may be worth it.

SoulAssassin,

Thank you, that is an excellent idea! In fact, I do not mind manual switches at all. On the contrary, I prefer them. So, this is what I think, I will do . . . I will buy two manual KVM switches, each for I monitor, 1 keyboard and 1 mouse. I will use all of the facilities on the first one, and only the monitor on the second. I can get each of these for about $15 I think.

Ideally, my second switch should be a monitor switch only . . . KVM is overkill. But, interestingly, it seems manual KVMs are less expensive than manual video switches.

Do you see any flaws with this plan?

Thanks.
