Even when out on the campaign trail?
I've never looked into the rules for how that money can be used, i'm ignorant on the subject.

If I’m not mistaken it can cover hotels and meals and stuff like that when you are flying around the country or state or whatever but if you tried to pay your mortgage with it or buy food for your kids, etc, that’s a big no-no.

Consider that most Congress critters at that level start in after a career as lawyers, wealthy businessfolk, whatever. They have a substantial nest egg and as you said, connections. There is certainly a danger for those habits of "norm" to translate into politics, but that is when the norm becomes corruption. It isn't always the case. You also have to remember that Trump built his entire campaign on the premise that he is nothing like the man that everyone knows he is. i.e.e: I am too wealthy to be corrupt! Yes, idiots believed that, apparently. The graft that is endemic to his family is piling on at an exponential rate and now that they have thrust themselves into such a public position, it just seems that much worse. I think this is why his family pretty much hates him and the fact that he won (let alone actually ran for president). Their vileness is now out in the open and they can't do anything about it, because they don't know anything else.
It appears to me that their just doing what they've always done, making deals leveraging the Trump brand. I doubt they much care how it appears, or weather it's even legal.

Yes this is true. It's super shady though. There are essentially no rules with what to do with funds after the campaign has ended and spending after the campaign is extremely poorly monitored so often family members are paid from campaign funds for years even after the campaign has ended and sometimes even after the politician has left office or even died! And guess who sets the rules on this stuff? Politicians! The foxes are literally guarding the hen house.

Because public officials need to avoid even the appearance of influence peddling. It weakens our faith in the govt of the people.

When a senator or congressman requires millions of dollars in campaign funds, far in excess of whatever salary they will make just to run for office, influence peddling is a given,

and they use the excuse everyone is doing it or lie to themselves like many corporate democrats do by saying they need wall street money to get into office to do good in order make themselves feel better about the whores they have become.

But as long as someone like Trump is there for them to point their finger at and say look at least we aren't as bad as him, they will never realize or understand the continuous moral and ethical decline in government and corporate America since the 1970's is the reason someone like Trump was able to become president.

Learn something new every day!

Yeah, I didn't know that either. It's pretty restricted. This particular restriction caught my eye:

Individuals who elect to receive a salary from their campaign committees must provide income tax records and additional proof of earnings from relevant years upon request from the Commission;

Tear it all down because they're just as bad, right?

exactly and that's the point. Apparently, trying to pivot your criminal history into politics doesn't make it less criminal, especially when done so openly. It's a wonder that any of this surprises you?

It does surprise me because it would be world class stupid to so openly display criminal activity. Every single member of the Trump clan knows half the country is watching, just waiting for the chance to put them in prison. I would expect a real effort at keeping nefarious activity out of the public eye.

They really don't know anything else, though. That's their problem.

Kushner very clearly exacted revenge on Qatar for refusing to bail his family out of their mountainous debt. That he still holds a position in government, & one with this much power, is a testament to both Trump's nepotism & Republicans' interest in party over country. pic.twitter.com/Wrws3nBPnI

Corruption. Overload.
How are we supposed to assume the "surprised" pose, the "oh no he didnt!" pose, the "this cant be happening" pose ... every single fcking day, multiple times a day?
We need someone to lead the standoff vs. putins russia ... get rid of this fool allready! Please?

The funny thing about loans is that they usually have to be paid back. I have serious doubts about anyone in the Trump camp actually being able to pay back any loans. And if those loans came from the wrong source and not paid back. someone could be found floating in the Potomac.
