Sorry if I'm wrong here, but doesn't this mean that Kushner lied on his FS86 at least once, and possibly twice?

As I understand it, that's punishable with jail time.

ABC News Tonight (at 5:00 p.m. Central) just ran a story about this. It stated that Kushner was a private citizen, was not in any official capacity, and did not have any secret clearance when he met with the Russians.

I live in the central time zone and 5:30p is 20 mins away. How did they just run something that hasn't happened yet?

I've been hearing while he was a private citizen he was firmly established in the Trump campaign. I'm not sure where svnla is going with this.
As I said earlier shockingly there are no laws against cooperating with a foreign power to mess with an election.

No you can you & I could walk into a Russian Embassy and talk all we want.
I'm not saying all god loving Americans should do that but the more I hear about this the more it looks like Jared did nothing criminally wrong.
Ethically is entirely a different question.

Why shouldn't Jared be allowed to take it upon himself and create channels to negotiate to end the Syrian conflict or the Arab Israeli conflict or the Ukrainian conflict?

I feel like people aren't taking Jared seriously. This man is a prodigy, his father donated $2.4M for a new building at Harvard. He ran a second rate NY real estate company for dozens of months. He is destined for greatness.

SF86. That form was filled out, I believe, twice by Kushner. He did not disclose this contact. So private citizen at the time or not, he has lied.

I enjoyed your post. To the first point, that's interesting. If the defense was that it was to work on bringing about peace in various regions... why is he doing that as a "private citizen"?

Except can't a pardon only be issued after a conviction? So for that to work there would have to be a carefully arranged scenario in which someone would take the fall for obstruction in exchange for a promise to be pardoned. That in itself would seem to be tampering/obstruction.

No. Ford gave Nixon an advance pardon for any possible crimes related to Watergate. Trump could give everyone a blanket pardon right now.
