Is that your entire thread, just the title of this thing? I've heard good things about them.

I am still training on a $150 minora 850T mag trainer (something like that). I have many dozens of hours in it now and it's still going like the day I bought it, really I've been thrilled with it. Got it just over 5 years ago but didn't use it much until 2006 and have since used it quite frequently.

cool, Skoorb. i'm glad you like yours!

btw, you can't see my edit, saying that i moved it to Off Topic? yeah, i had it here for about a day and didn't get any responses so i moved it to ATOT... doesn't look like it's doing much better! ^_^'

anyway, i just bit the bullet and bought one. i was concerned about the fluid leaks on the fluid trainers and heard good things about Kurt so i went with them. i was just not sure where to get it so i went with 1upusa.com... someone else on another forum suggested them. we'll so how that goes.

Oh now I remember Kurt is the one with the magnetic fly wheel so it's in theory immune to fluid leaks. I just have a mag trainer not a fluid one. When/if this one ever dies I'm not sure what I'll get. There are some I have seen that have a built in watt meter and are quite cheap, too, like a few hundred bucks last I checked.

Here's mine but I don't have a rim job, just the normal one. It has the remote but i always have resistance set to full and just go through gears to change it. http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1028837_-1_400037_400006_400133

Probably the best built fluid trainer and you can get it with the matching computer that estimates your power output from the trainer. Wish I would of bought one instead of my not so good blackburn ''ultra''.

You actually don't even need the extra computer, because the resistance of the hydraulic unit is calibrated to actual road load, so if you already have a standard cycling computer that gives you speed from your wheel, you can calculate your wattage output from that.
