kung fu vs taekwondo (video)

I thought the Karate guy had the slight edge until the last kick. Most of the Kung Fu kicks were blocked or weren't landing square, no matter how fancy they looked, and the Karate guy was landing some good body shots.

But yes, the last kick was good.
 
I've sparred with some decent (not legendary) Kung Fu students, and I think this generally holds true :

Fanstastic block/range control, mediocre to ineffective striking. TKD is even less effective in actual practice assuming equal skill/athleticism.

Interesting video though.

Was thinking the same thing. Looked more like a point match than a fight though especially with all the cutting in and out.
 
It's amazing that people can do that in real life. I get dizzy when I get turned around in Half Life 😀
